Ski Length, K2 Obsethed.

Picking up a pair of pow pow rockers next year, I am 5"9 and 190. Think I can squeeze onto 2011 K2 Obsethed @ 179? Next step up is 189, a little large maybe.

Depends how strong you are. They have a LOT of rocker so there's not a lot on the ground, and they're also very soft.

Great ski - let my 179's go earlier this year after falling in love with some old Kastle 108's, but they're different skis.

If you're an uber-hard charger go long.

I have no experience at all with the Obsethed, but it looks like you could go either 179 or 189 depending on what type of terrain you are planning for the Obsethed.

These skis have a lot of rocker as snofun3 said, I`ve seen a pair on my local shop. Also as a reference Seth uses the 189 he is about your height but much lighter about 35lbs I guess based on some of his comments on product reviews, but of course we don`t ski like Seth neither we spend our time on big mountains, but it works as a reference.

So I believe if you planning on using them on trees and making lots of turns you could go with the 179, but you mostly like would do better on the 189 since you said this is going to be a powder ski.

But again, no experience at all, that`s based on what I`ve seen online.

If you ski aggressive at all go with the 89's, they ski both short and have a soft flex (however they don't ski as soft as you would think after flexing them). If you're not that experienced in skiing powder or ski more on the mellow, relaxed side, go with the 179's then.

You should also look at some other skis that have offerings in the 184 - 186 range - which is extremely common.  189 is getting up there.
