Help with new binding purchase?

Hello, I am new to this forum and was hoping for some help. I just bought a new pair of Scott Dozer 175's that are 98mm in the waist. I am mostly an intermediate skier that usually stays in bounds on the groomers with an occasional mellow run through some powder in the trees or an occasional black run (no moguls).

I weigh 225lbs and have 5 years experience skiing. I think the last pair I rented they set the DIn at 7.5.

I have been doing a lot of research on bindings for my new skis. The Salomon STH12 & Marker Griffon 13 are a few that I have been looking seriously at.

Any recommendations based on my information above? I was hoping to stay in the $150-$250 range.

Thanks for any help!

Brad

In general, any binding at 12 DIN or above will be a good quality, durable binding.  As you move up to 14 and 15 DIN bindings, you get more metal, and in general more durability.  For you, with your DIN setting at 7.5, I'd say pretty much any 12 DIN binding will do the trick.  Some people have favorites for one reason or another, but pretty much everything on the market these days is a good quality binding. Both the STH12 and the Griffon will work well, as will similar offerings from Look/Rossi/Dynastar (all the same bindings) or Head/Tyrolia/Elan/Fischer (all the same bindings).

Plenty of people over-think bindings, just pick one, make sure the brakes will fit and you're good to go.
