What finally happened to Robert Sandy Vietze??

Remember Sandy Vietze? He had an issue last summer with some drunken incontinence on a Jet Blue aircraft. Were any charges laid, did he beat them? Where is he now? Is all forgiven, can he come home?

There (or somewhere very close to there) but for the Grace of God go many of us!

He's been skiing all year through GMVS (I believe). In any case he skied a pretty full FIS schedule in the US/Canada

And skied pretty well, honestly. Improved ~150 world ranking spots in SL, pretty stagnant in the other disciplines.

 

He didn't make US Ski Team Criteria, so as of now, he's not on the team next year. I'm not sure if he'll be invited to the tryout camps, but my guess would be yes. He's too talented (and too young - he's a 93) to just be shut out completely.

He won't make it. Old dormmate of mine (Willie Ford, Julia's older brother) was a better than that point wise his freshman year (6 years ago, same age as Sandy), and didn't make the team. I'm sure he'll be a good threat on the D1 circuit, but that's about it. Hopefully he stays around here for school, would be interesting to see him attend UVM or UNH.
