Former college distance runner.
Ran 12 marathons and over 1,000 road races from ages 13-40. I am now 45 and often called an old man. Jokingly, I play basketball one day a week and am a barefoot walker here at home. After sport or spinning on the. I hurt and limp wLking barefoot. Even with flipgloss the toe hurts.
Fusion was the only choice. The hemI-implant was an option too, but the doc said implants break down fast
Surgery 4 days ago and as a pharmaceutical rep needing to work and drive, the goal is to get me on the road asap. I have been keeping my foot up and no weight bearing. There is very little pain but I still have the bandages on from the surgi-center
I am tempted to try to stand but am. It. My follow up is day 12. We will see what the doc says
