GQ - LOVE the deco! Your lightly bandaged foot looks really good - seems like there's not much swelling. I tried to get my pain meds before surgery but it was such a hassle I just gave up. Luckily our Walmart is pretty quick about filling scrips, although I didn't need my meds until about 6 hours after I got home.
Toegal, I'm so jealous! You must be thrilled to be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel as far as getting around goes. My hubby is already getting crabby about having to do everything. After Christmas I start rehearsals for TWO shows (just got asked to do the second) and he's going to be REALLY crabby. At the end of January classes start at the college, so he'll be having to drive me two days a week to teach those. Tough thing for him is that he has to wait around for me for a lot of this stuff - he just can't go home and do his own thing. I'm going to try to get rides home from some of these things. I'm hoping to find someone who lives in my direction. I'm secretly glad that he has to drive me to my gigs in Lake Tahoe - I hate driving over the mountain when it's snowing and it's been doing that a lot lately. (Thank God!) Funny - I've lived here five years and have never skied here. I didn't have health insurance for the first few years and was afraid I'd break something, so I didn't ski. The past two years there's been barely any snow, so didn't bother to get a pass. THIS year we're getting a ton of snow and I can't do it! Maybe next year.
Today I went along for a ride to the post office then stopped to visit a friend who had surgery the week after I did. We only stayed for about an hour, but it totally wiped me out. I slept for four hours when we got home! Baby steps, I know!
pjp - don't worry, you'll be fine! I was glad that I'd prepared my nest and had thought about all I'd need to do, but everything was much easier than I thought it would be. I had one little cramp in my toe the other day but it went away quickly. Haven't had any other cramps, just the toe wiggling thing. I can't remember who posted about that, but I found myself wiggling my toes a bunch after the surgery. Maybe trying to get the feeling back?
Bootstrap, are you wearing shoes now? The redness could also be from rubbing on your shoes if the area of the incision is raised. Does it go away after you have your shoes off for awhile?
Thanks, Toecutter for all of your helpful advice and answers!
