I don't know that your video shows a "down" move as much as it is a flexing or absorbing move. In that context, I would say you are on the correct path. Using a ridge like that which is shown in the video is the perfect place to practice & learn that movement. I would suggest being more active pulling your feet & legs toward your core & get ahead of the game. If you don't get earlier retracting and twisting your inside leg, you are going to cross the tips of your skis .
