...according to the Denver Post. Another interesting article as I surf the interweb for ski stories this morning. It looks like an above average year in in the PAC NW couldn't make up for the dreadful numbers and snowfall in CA, NE and CO.
"The weakest snowfall in 20 years fueled a 15.7 percent decline from last year’s record 60.5 million visits. The season started slow, with resort visitation down 29 percent before and through Christmas, hobbling momentum heading into the typically busiest months of the ski season.
The statistical litany of declines revealed what every U.S. resort operator suspected: the 2011-12 ski season will forever rank as one of the ugliest ever, with record levels of decay from coast to coast."
