What a bunch of crap (meaning the situation, not the fine job A-Basin has done keeping things running this long).  http://www.summitdaily.com/article/20120501/NEWS/120509995.

Change of plans for Mothers Day Weekend.  We'll still be there, but will have to change our annual celebration.

Well, we closed The Basin down in style today. The final day of the season started with one of those cloudless blue skies that the Rockies are famous for, but with "weather" forecast to arrive by mid-day. For most of the day, though, the blue sky held out over Arapahoe Basin, even as the skies to the south and west took on an evil-looking coal-black, and snow flurries appeared over Breckenridge and probably also Vail. But Arapahoe got no more than a good breeze, and the snow that remained was really quite good--typical "bi-polar" spring conditions that started out firm and turned to snow cone slush by afternoon.

Ironically, as soon as we called it a day and headed in for an apres-ski beer, it started snowing. We waited nearly all season for snow, and it finally arrived when the last lifts shut down. Oh well--it's been that sort of season. Time to move on!

See you all on Mother's Day. Travel should be easier, without all that ski gear!

Best regards,
Bob
