Why does it take so long for Epic to load on my netbook?

Samsung N150 Plus, Intel Atom, 2Gs DDR2, Windows Starter, MSE 8, all features turned off, (carousal, avatars, signatures) cache cleared, wireless router cache cleared and still takes 10 to 20 seconds to load a page, any page and any link to any epic page. My old XP desktop died and it loaded OK. Not as fast as most sites but OK. Now this machine acts like I'm back on a dial up modem. WTF is going on?

Do you have advertisements turned off in your preferences?

Have you tried Chrome or Safari browser?  They seem faster to me.

I've got that same Netbook.  EVERYTHING takes forever.  However, I did put Chrome on it even though I swore I wasn't adding anything to the PC because I just couldn't deal with the IE that came with it.

Sib beat me to it, but try installing Chrome. Its Java rendering engine will do a lot better at utilizing the limited resources on that netbook than IE8 will.
