Subscriptions

Mine are glitchy again.  Some things are coming in, others (especially subscriptions to a particular forum and people I am following) are not.  Then there's the occasional individual thread that is not coming through.  I've checked to see if I'm still showing as subscribed to the "missing" item, and on that item itself, it is showing me as already subscribed.  And yet, it is not in my subscriptions activity.

Chrome, Win 7-64 bit.

New activity seems to be coming to the top again.  I noticed for a while today that was not happening.

I've noticed the same problem with the new threads in the new Group for the Big Sky Gathering.  Meaning a thread in my Subscription Edit List but not showing up under Activity.  On a Mac with latest Safari.

Same here.

I'm having problems with them being out of order in my subscription list. They're all showing, but sometimes I have recently posted in unread ones that I have to hit the more button to see even though there are older new-post-free ones on top.

Well, the new Gathering Group threads showed up tonight.  Who knows?

Very strange . . . my Subscription Activity list is fine, but the Edit List only has the items that are NOT regular threads.  Meaning the Edit List only has the Big Sky Gathering Group threads and a couple other things that aren't forum threads.

Well, I have threads included, but ONLY 40 of them????  I think the last time I looked it was in the 1000's!

Mine is still really messed up. I'll have one unread one then it will skip to have 5 read ones, then another unread one etc. So even if I only have say four unread threads I have to hit the more button twice and keep scrolling.

Mine is still actively "losing" subscriptions.  Remember I said it read 40?  Then I re-subscribed to several threads, the number was up to 44.  Now it's back to 42.  And I can only hit More once and get anything, the second More only gives me spinning wheel.

I am also seeing differences between the "newest" stuff in New Posts when compared to the Activity Feed.  I'm wondering if this is a Java issue, I see a got an update to Java on 4/22.

I just posted two items, a forum post and a review.  Neither of them shows up in Recent EpicSki Activity on the home page, nor do they show up in the Your Recent Activity section of my profile page.  Something's not updating properly.

Safari 5.1.5, Mac OS X 10.6.8.  Haven't changed anything lately.

Huddler is looking into troubleshooting this now.  I am experiencing the same problem, where new subscriptions like "Crudology Revisited" don't even show up in my Recent Activity feed or subscriptions, and older subscriptions do not update in order of the most recent activity.

Not only subscriptions, but even the new posts are way out of order. Makes it hard for me to track what I've missed through the day.

the "New Posts" or the "Activity Feed"?  I think my New Posts is working okay, but not the Activity Feed.

My activity feed seems to be broken.

The posts on the activity feed on my computer are the ones that were displayed a few days ago, for whatever reason they just stopped updating. I have the same issue on both Firefox and Chrome and it is still there after I logged out, cleared my cookies, and then logged back in.

I'm working fine again. At least on my iPhone. I'll have to check my laptop in a bit.

When I go to EpicSki.com before logging in, the list of threads is not really in the correct order.  At least it doesn't look the same as what comes up using Forums/New Posts after I log in.

My Subscriptions are still messed up as before.

The order looks fine on my laptop too. I'll have to poke around and see if I actually lost any subscriptions. There is still the issue that I can only hit the more button on my subscription list twice and then it just hangs.

I am back to 40 subscriptions again, the 1000's I used to have and the NEW ones I'd added to the 40 are not there.  At least in the Edit Subscriptions tab.  They might be showing in my Subscriptions FEED, I haven't tried to compare them.

The New Posts vs. Activity Feed comparison looks like it is fixed, though.

As of this morning, the activity feed seems to be in the correct chronological order I expected.

As far as the number of subscriptions, I have over 1700 threads subscribed.  I don't think we limit that for other members, but you should not have lost subscriptions.

I have had subscriptions disappear on me before too.

I'm telling you I think it was like 3000 subscriptions just a few days back!  Now it lists 40.  And I had ADDED to that list the last couple days, and it keeps going back to 40.  AND only 18 of those are "threads".  Now you KNOW I've participated in more than 18 threads since 2005.  Interestingly enough, the yellow "subscribed" star is WHITE for THIS thread.

I have asked Huddler to look into your subscription issues.  I was able to confirm that you only have 41 subscriptions currently.  You are however subscribed to this thread, but that may be because of your last post.

Also checking to see if the Ambassador user group has any bearing on this.

My Subscription Edit List has 6, all Group threads or something else that isn't a forum thread.  My Subscription Activity list looks fine, meaning the few dozen I've either posted to or added manually in the last month or so.

Its back to being a bit out of order again for me. Its mostly right, but one thread was at the very top that should have been 3rd.

Earlier today I got the explanation

"Job was jammed, EpicSki should be updating normally now."

Apparently a housekeeping task related to updating subscriptions had stopped working yesterday and was fixed today.  When we see threads again falling out of order, I assume this is a related bug, and we will just have to keep after it.

Not sure that explains all my lost subscriptions.

I sent you a PM and hope to put you in direct contact with the platform support person.

My issue remains.  Clearly not a browser/platform issue on my end as I'm currently using Firefox 3.6 on Linux.

It looks like the activity lists on the home page and my profile page got fixed yesterday on a one-time basis, but they have fallen behind again.  I'm guessing that jammed job is continuing to jam.
