I own the helldorado's and have put about 25 days on them here in the PNW through every kind of snow imaginable, from knee deep pow to wind blown to cement to small bumps to icy hardpack to...
I haven't had a chance to do more than a dry run with the intercom system. My intention was to use it with one of our blind students in our adaptive program, but that never came to fruition. I...
This is a summertime purchase. I'll provide an on-snow review when I can.
I picked up this boot at an off-season sale at the Boot Doctors in Telluride, together with a custom footbed....
Sun Valley owner Earl Holding recently passed away (2013) but he wanted to leave a legacy in the Sun Valley resort. The millions he invested into the on mountain lodges, manmade snow making...

Dont laugh...in Australia, that is actually how it is...and people actually show up....and pay full price for a lift ticket! No kidding. (Ok maybe its not quiet that bad, but it is bad enough that proper etiquette is to stand on the grass when not skiing, so the those who are have enough room on the snow to ski past.
That may be SkiDude but around here this is not normal, not even close. Those condos in the background are normally ski-in except for very early in the season. And there were numerous people on hill who had paid full price to be there. But we had fun in spite of the conditions.
Of course now we're getting some snow this weekend.
Have you ever actually been angry and/or depressed to see snow? Last night I was just ... urgh. It's like the stages of grief.
But I've had a lot of fun skiing over the past couple of weeks, actually -- if I weren't laughing, I'd be crying, so I'm doing my best to keep laughing. :-)
Sigh ... all the snow reports in my inbox this morning ... finally ... on closing day for most places. April is the cruelest month ...
Was driving in the slushee last night coming back from DIA - what a mess. 6" reported at WP and more off and on over next two days. Fully operational for another week, and bases on C-lot cam looks like quite a few people went up today to catch Jane's closing in the fresh.
Loveland actually skied pretty well this morning. It was only a 5" call, but we found up to 12" based on exposure and wind deposits. A-Basin called 8" and it will be snowing all day so tomorrow should be pretty good. We need a couple more of these and the M-day festivities at A-Basin will be in much better shape.
BTW - I brought out the fat skis to try to stay above the ice and rocks below. That tactic worked well for the most part. All my "secret" tree lines were untouched - good times.
