My daughter is 1997 born and will be in her last J3/K2 year next season. At the moment she skis on atomic 144, 165 and 175, slalom, gs and super g skis. At the moment she is 5ft 3/160 cm tall and weights 99 lbs/45 kgs, how small she is for a 1997 is making choosing skis and lengths for next year difficult, her lack of experience doesnt help either. If the FIS regulations hadnt changed she could go on around a 150, 170 and 185 (or similar length) next year and then be on 155, 175 and 195 for first year FIS it would still be a big jump in length for super g but it would be manageable. However due to FIS length regulation changes she will have to ski on 183 GS and 200 super-g first year FIS, this would mean a big jump in length unless she skis on 175 and 195 next year . I think 150, 170 and 185 would already be pushing it next season due to her size and lack of experience, and i cant see bigger skis working. Her coaches are not being very helpful and dont really seem to know what to do either all they seem sure of is that she needs a soft ski . Any advice on what brand(a soft ski) and what length to put her on would be really appreciated.

A lot of this depends on how much she grows over the summer. Perhaps you could wait until fall and get something at a gear swap when you have a better idea what her growth spurt does.
