Hello Again

Well, I'm back... with a new avatar : )   Sounds like some issues that I was concerned with have been resolved.  I apologize for my previous meltdown.

Here's what I have been doing in the meantime:

I broke my wrist skateboarding Friday and it hurts to type, so if I am not extremely active on the forum for a while, that's why.

Anyway, it's nice to be back on here.

Nice!  I didnt watch it all, but really liked the skiing clip starting at about 16 seconds or so.icon14.gif

Sweet turns, nice mix of terrain and snow conditions as well.  I also think it's great that you include a developing skier in the video, too many people treat different terrain as unobtainable to developing skiers.

I wanna ski with Katya, she gets all the good snow wink.gif .

Thanks,

What resort is that?

The mogul shots are from Mary Jane and the other shots are at Copper, Loveland, Winter Park, and Berthoud Pass (backcountry).

The still picture on the video before you press play is Berthoud pass.

Is that vasquez at Berthoud?  aka the hike up above the old lift to the top (100's side). ?     I skied berthoud and loveland pass for about 15 years when i live in Westminster.  I recognized some of the shots but couldn't place it in my head.     Ever hit the choke to 7 mile?   Or no name?      Mt Evans will be open soon, do you get up there at all?   How about Beirstadt or bethel ?    sorry, just really miss the BC out there....

I'm not sure what the name of that area in the picture is.  If you go up the west side (the steep side with the cliffs) then keep going past where the old lift used to stop, up and left up the pointy mountain, then rap right (north) all the way around a long cirque you'd be on top of those chutes.  There are 3 chutes from that area in the video.  They're pretty easy to spot because they look really similar to one another.  I've never done no name or 7 mile.  I have been thinking about skiing Evans though.  We may hit it this year, I'm not sure.  Right now I need my wrist to heal.  I haven't skied Beirstadt or Bethel, but I've hiked Beirstadt in the summer : )

Yea that is Vasquez cirq (aka current creek),     Evans is awesome, super steep in spots, 55+,    If you are not going with anyone who has been up there, IM me and I can at least steer you to some good spots, (most are obvious, but a few hidden gems).  I spent a lot of time out there.     You would also love bierstadt, but you probably already figured that out on your last hike up. :)

Welcome back. Previous meltdown warranted and (in fact) appreciated.

Nice video. Tele-bumps. Knees are too old for that stuff, but it gets pulled off nicely. Post more.

Some amazing skiing.  I'd need donor knees for those bumps.

We're either going to do that in May or the Conundrum Couloir near Aspen.  Have you done that one?  We're kinda leaning towards doing that one I think, in the middle of May.

No, but Evans is a half day trip and you can get a bunch of runs in if the road is open to the top,(which depends on spring storms).   I use to to up to Evans a couple of times a week when they open on Memorial weekend.   I suggest doing both, Evans is like a drug, can't just do it once and you will wonder why you waited so long to try it. :)

Yeah, maybe I should try it.  I did definitely see some ski tracks in some cool spots when we drove up there in the past.

The Conundrum Couloir looks like it has a skimmable glacial-type pond at the bottom of it.  I think it'd be cool to ski it then skim the pond at the bottom : )
