I really think that Kastle's sizing has caused a tremendous amount of paralysis by analysis making it difficult for people to make a decision on a ski.
IMHO, this is how the line should be sized
MX78 160, 168,176, 182
MX88 170,178, 186
BMX every 8 too once they go through their next evolution.
Phil, is this the way you intend this to work?:
You've got three weight+height+ability+style classes -- let's call them I, II, and III; and for all the MX and FX skis except the MX78, if you're in class I you get the short ski, in class II you get the medium, and in class III you get the long? [And then there would be a separate set of three classes for the LX skis.] That certainly would simplify things because it means that someone that likes a class II-sized MX88, say, would know the right size to get in an FX94. Is that your intent? And if so, what about the MX78 -- why does it get the extra size choice, and are you saying that someone that skis a hypothetical 170 in an MX88 should only be on a 160 in an MX78?
I suppose one downside of this systemization would be that if you are caught between sizes on one ski, you're between sizes on all of them
