BBR Edge Angles

Let me preface this by saying I'm new to skiing (REALLY NEW ). That said, I recently purchased my first pair of skis....Salomon BBRs. Home tuning has also peaked my interest as well. I've purchased all (some) of the needed gear and have started tuning. This brings me to my question. Can someone please comment on why Salomon chose 1.5 degree base and side edge angles for these skis instead of the typical 1/2, 1/3 edge angles.

I believe that the edge angles should be as any all mountain ski 1/2.
