Salomon Twenty Twelve vs. Rossignol S3

I demoed S3 in Alta and liked it. Now I can have Twenty Twelves for a great deal in 171 cm.

Would like to know if they are similar from people who may have skied both.

I am 5'5", 140 lb, learned to ski late in life but love it. Ski mostly in Ontario but a couple of trips west. Twenty Twelves are for skiing out west.

Please feel free to comment on the length of ski too, considering the rocker, is it appropriate?

Thanks

If you demoed an S3 and liked it, it is always better to buy something else. Demoing is highly overrated.

I sense a heavy dose of sarcasm in that reply.

I'd think you would be able to find a good deal on the S3 if you look around a bit.  If you are willing to buy used, I'm sure some shops will be unloading their current S3 demo skis as they upgrade their inventory to the new year models.

I must confess that I giggled like...like...like a wee little schoolgirl!

To the OP, a quick Google search of S3's, shows all sizes available for a mere 350 bucks.

Another poster in another thread on this site has 'em in 186 with demo bindings for 300.

Those seem like pretty good deals to me for a ski you already know you like.

Thanks Jim that was really helpful.

This was my first question on Epic after a few years of reading the forums and , have to say, learning a lot.

Having said that, I know how to search for deals. I am in Canada and most shops where you find good deals on S3 don't ship up here including Jim's store. The shipping cost for used ones can add up to $100 . I can get the new Twenty Twelves with binding for half the price I can find the S3s.

Thanks

The 2012s are a ton of fun. Good on and off-piste. But I'd recommend demoing first.
