Like some of you, I collect old ski equipment!

It has been many many years since I installed a VARS Atomic binding so I have a unique problem!

I want to take off this binding from an old old Atomic ski , so that I can install it on my "binding wall" !

Problem is I can not access the screws! Can not find my old VARS technician manual ! After 2 hours of playing around,,I a, looking for an older skier that has a great memory or who is smarter than me !

Thank you so much for the attention given to this matter!

Respectfully,

Pav

Pav,  IIRC you have to prise off teh center plastic plate to get to the center mount screw.  Remove that and slide the toe and heel off and then remove the base plates.  The later Atomic version had the single center screw holding the plastic plate as well

Thank you for prompt reply !

I realize that I must take off plastic center cover,,,,but how ?

It does not come off via prying !

I do want to break unit since I will donate all this material to National ski museum ! ( I might also want to install in newer skis ) !!!!!

Solution found !

After a coffee,,more observations,,,my mind began to do a "memory check" !

On the side of the plastic cover unit, 5mm behind front binding unit is a plastic "check" slot !

Insert a narrow screwdriver into slot carefully.

Pull back ( towards ski tails ) and voilà unit come out.

All screws are then taken out!

Thank you all for comments, advice and support !

Save those screws for use in other bindings - VAR screws come in very, very useful lengths, especially if you have a VAR plate underneath.
