I don't know too much about this market segment so I'd figured I'd just ask. What are the stiff, Twintip, Powder / Freeride skis out there now? I here a lot of comments about new twintips being soft, so which are the stiff ones?
My new favorite ski almost meets your criteria:
194 Dynastar Super Nobis
Stiff: Definitely. Bomber, race room construction. The tip is slightly softer than the tail which helps with flotation. You can really lay 'em over and carve GS-Style turns in pow.
Twin-tip: Sort-of....really it's just a slight kick, but ample enough for landing small switch airs, and backing up in tight, steep, billy-goat spots.
Powder: 117-90-109. Not much sidecut so its very predictable in deep snow, not "hooky" at high speed.
Hardpack: Definitely it's weak spot, but holds a very nice line at speed.
However, if you want more of a true twin, some of the other skis that were mentioned above might be better suited for ya.[ February 09, 2004, 05:49 PM: Message edited by: Tyrone Shoelaces ]
