Can You Flat Mount Neox Bindings?

I want to take the Neox 412 bindings off my old M:EXs and mount the whole system on some flat skis.  Is that possible?  They have some orange pieces on each end that fit into the beta grooves of the ski. Are they going to screw things up?

Is this a bad idea?

Shouldn't be a problem.  The Neox is not a system binding.  IIRC the orange parts you refer to are part of the mount plate on the M-Ex.  I had a pair some time back and I actually mounted some Race 614s on them.  While the plate was not predrilled for them like the Neox, it did have dimple markings for the race series binding

Thanks!  After starting to take it apart and looking more closely I see that the parts I was worried about are not actually part of the binding system, but rather just a mounting plate on the ski as you described.  It was confusing because it is a 4-part stacked system with the ski and attached mounting plate, then the binding plate and binding on top of that.
