Big Sky 3/31/12-4/7/12

Yes, I know it is late season but we got a killer deal on lodging at the Lakes Condominiums.

We will probably ski Sunday 4/1 and then Tuesday through Friday.

She:  using typical ratings stuff high 6-low 7 skier.

Me:  a fair bit better than that.

If anyone is around and would like to make some turns or just have a drink, sent a pm.  I don't post here often, but I have skied with a number of the folks who hang out here. beercheer.gif

Have you stayed at Lake Condos before?  I'm considering putting in a RCI timeshare search for next winter to see what happens.  Certainly a nice location.

Was at Big Sky for the first time in Feb.  Loved it.  Hoping the timing for the EpicSki Gathering next season fits in my schedule.

We had an Epicski Academy there a few years ago at precisely the time you're going this year.  We had incredible weather and a minimum of 6" fresh snow every morning, and some days we had more like 2 ft

The reality is, you just never know about snow levels, but there is always some way to have fun.

What a time that was! My avatar is from that trip skiing Liberty Bowl. It was the best skiing of my life. Phil shot video of my run and there literally is 20 seconds where I'm invisible because of the depth of the snow.

Unbelievable!

Enjoy; I was there 2 weeks ago, and wish I was there now.

We are remembering that season, and last spring too, with longing - Challenger, Liberty and even the Bowl in powder up to my bum!  LMAO  (since I know my iPhone won't do smilies)
As far as conditions go, we are better off than almost anyone, but we need this warm air mass to move along. The base is still 86" but slushy by noon. We've all become early birds!  (We always were, but now we're surrounded by them!)  They are predicting a good snow for Tuesday, and it's cold every night, but nothing like those years of cold and plenty!

I have never stayed at The Lakes Condos, but I figured for $349 plus tax for 7 nights I couldn't go wrong.  Also, I managed to book two units and get them side-by-side.

I will let you know the good/bad things about them

Since Lakes is Silver Crown, should be fine.  Have fun!

Merlin, you'll enjoy it- The condos are great and you can walk to the lift in less than 5 minutes or catch the free shuttle. I may be up there on Sunday 4/1 and would be happy to show you around but the day job prevents me from skiing mid-week days. Typical late-spring skiing out there this weekend- hard ice in the morning, a period of beautiful corn skiing mid-day, then slush in the afternoons with temps creeping into high 50s and plenty of sun. Still a lot of great skiing to be had but we won't likely have much more accumulation before closing 2nd week of April. Tell your gang to dust off the bikinis and sunscreen- no sense overpacking.
