I figured I’d share some info about NM snow conditions since many of these ski areas snow reports are inaccurate. (snow report based on skiing Fri.-Mon.)
Taos: Good coverage generally with a few rocks poking through in places. Blues and Greens are all open. About 25% of black and double blacks are now closed. High sking such as hike to skiing is still in great shape with the exception of some of the traverses on the rides which have large bare spots due to wind.
Red River: Coverage is just ok with lots of recent melting. Sliver lift is closed for season. 40% of black runs are closed and the remainder have many rocks and some large bare spots some of which require skiing/walking over grass/rocks. 30% of blue and green runs are closed and like the blacks, many of the blues & greens are in bad shape.
Ski Santa Fe: Coverage is holding up the best of the three. Mountain is nearly 100% open still although the day I was there, they were not running the old upper mountain triple. You could still traverse/hike to those runs though.
