How many times can you mount bindngs on the same skis?

I've got a pair of Atomic R:EX that first had 7tm releasable telemark bindings, then Fritschi Freeride Plus AT bindings; the skis are in very good shape.  But with a dozen or so screw holes in them, is it worthwhile remounting them with something like a Marker Squire?

I'm enjoying my 2011 191-cm Volkl Mantras (95-mm waist) lift served, but was thinking that for some lift-served spring skiing, especially in bumps, trees, and tight gullies, these 184-cm R:EX (84 mm waist) might be fun, too--lighter, shorter, less swing weight.

The recommended maximum that skis can be mounted is three times.  The shop will have the final say on the third mount.  It's all about the skis holding their structural integrity.

I learned about the three times mount recommendation years ago when I was getting myself certified to mount bindings.  I really have not looked at a tech manual lately, but I am sure the recommendation still applies.  A binding company will not back a shop up from litigation if a set of skis was mounted more than three times.

In your case, have a shop look at your skis.  Before drilling, a good shop tech could inspect if there may be some issues on remounting your skis.
