while I do love these versatile atomics in softer snow, in harder their edge isn't quite up there

....hoping to get feedback on how the fx78 differs (aside from 4mm waist) from the lx82

...also considering a nordica tempest or jet fuel for better edging.

me: i'm intermediate/advanced intermediate.

or might go for kastle 88 (and sell atomic blkeyes)

but next yr there is supposed to be some 'eliptical'  sidecut 'improvement' to the kastle mx series too

(yet honestly sometimes you don't know if the 'upgrade/improvement' is really worth waiting for or not

...often I feel not necessary to change skis for a good 3-4 yrs or so (if that)

I haven't tried the new one, but it's hard to imagine how you'd improve the old one.

I don't have the 78 but I do have the LX82,great ski but it's a cadillac;your first few turns on a slippery double black are definitely different if you know what a stiff slalom or gs ski feels like.

thanks....also looking at the nordica steadfast....once demo'd nordica jet fuel up at whistler (aside from fischer wateas, motives, head skis etc) and the nordica just SO impressed me with their ease of use and locking in on carving (surprised they don't get as big a following as other skis, to be frank)

...read some good things on their 90mm waisted 'steadfast' ski too....will prob demo that and the kastle when up at whistler over the next 2 wks as they hold their annual big demo wkend (great event: you can demo those helmet video cams and even keep the chip you'vre recorded a run on, to take home aka the oft reliable 'puppy dog sale' lol.
