Let me first say I'm new here. Read a few posts and everyone seems to be very knowledgeable.
I've been on rental gear since i've grew out my old Head skis 8 years or so ago but i'm out of college and finally able to get new skis.
I'm about 6'-3" 185 lbs. Ski mostly east coast groomed slopes but I try and go out west once every two years or so.
I love speed and really like to challenge myself on the mountain but with all my friends being snowboarders i'm looking for something I can experiment on the parks with as well. So I guess what I’m saying is I’m looking for a twin-tip that’s going to be stable at high speeds.
A couple of Armada skis have caught my eye:
The first one is the Triumph which seems to be exactly what I’m looking for the only thing i worry about with that is the fact that its only a partial twin and that the tips may catch when riding or landing switch.
The other is the Pipe Cleaners which I’m told are good all-around skis but when doing the researching myself it seems like its focused on the Pipe.
I’m open to suggestion if anybody has other skis they think I should try.
Also I'm looking to demo a few skis before i buy. does anyone know how i go about doing this? Before I buy a water-ski (slalom) I would call the ski lake i wanted test them on and they would have them sent, if they didn't already have them there. Does it work the same way for snow skis?
This will be the first set of skis that I will have personally bought for myself so while i'm excited i do want take my time and make a good investment.
Any information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
