How late?  Whistler has a 140-in. base and is open into May ...

Yeah I'd say Whistler is the go to. There's a thread in this forum about record breaking storm in Banff, so I'd bet Sunshine would be another good bet. It's usually open into May, too, I believe.

The way the season has been in the Rockies, I wouldn't be too confident in A-Basin or Snowbird.

Lake Louise is having a good snow year and is offering a Spring Season Pass, March 1 to May 6 for $399 ( equivalent of 5 days of lift tickets) or $299 for Mon. to Thurs. I don't know if it includes Sunshine and Norquay but I will find out when I head there in mid April after Sun Peaks closes.

Boycot Sunshine!

Crystal Mountain and Mount Baker in Washington State will likely be open until mid May.  Last year Crystal mountain was open until June.

Alyeska, Girdwood, AK!

When do you plan to travel?  right now the pacific northwest is buried, and Tahoe is finally in form.  unbelieveable considering how the season started and persisted until March.

Mt Washington gets lots of snow AND rain, kinda smallish and most out of town(off island) skiers are there for other reasons than to ski Mt Washington. ie visiting friends or business trip but not because Mt Washington is a destination resort because it isn't.

Revelstoke Mountain Resort will close in early or mid April for lack of skiers, not lack snow, just like the rest of the ski resorts in the B.C. interior.

Sunshine (Banff) is open until the 24th of May weekend and they have lot of snow right now.

^ ^ I agree, but that's really not helpful to the thread. Guy's looking for late-season resorts, which would include sunshine. At least throw the link in so he can see the whole story, if he's not aware already.

Mt. Baker has over 300" of base, it's still snowing every day and looking like mid winter, but the area will close on the last Sunday of April.  It always has done so and it will not change this year no matter how wonderful the snow is.

Just got back from Mt Bachelor. Great dry deep base. They will ski for another 75 days this season. They post how many days they will be open. Trained at Hood when i was a kid, trained at Mammoth now that i am old and raced in Canada etc. Whistler sucks, base is at 6500 and it rains there at the bottom but it snows at the top all at the same time ( heli skiing is a diff. story), something to do with Pacific ocean. Mammoth and most of Calif. is dead. My race coach told me in Feb that the little rocks are blown by the wind on the snow in Mammoth and nobody skis on good skis and its been downhill from there. There is no snow here in Calif, i think it was in the mid 80s when it was this bad here. If i was you i would look at all resorts in Oregon and Washington. I am thinking all of them got about 300 inches this year and i was told that it was an off year at Bachelor for snow when i was there. I like the Baniff Springs Hotel in Canada (its a vacation in its self) if you want to ski Canada , check the snow report there.

And there's more snow on the ground right now than there was at this time last year.  I think Crystal should be good for another long season this year.

sorry you hit it when the weather was bad, but, you're incorrect. Weather patterns in the PNW areas you mention always involve periods of wet/rain at altitude during the season. Whistler is farther north, and even if you're skiing the top half of the mountain, that's still bigger than pretty much anything else. I've skied there several times in mid April and have had pretty much winter conditions in the alpine, and great 'spring skiing' on the way to the bottom.

The Whistler base is at about 2400 feet, not 6500. In my experience it's a great place for spring skiing. It's either like winter in the Alpine, or the sun is out and it's beautiful spring skiing. The rain up high doesn't seem to happen as much in the spring, those big Pacific storms with warm air from Hawaii mellow out later in the season. This season may be different, though, since winter is still in full swing.

Crystal also has a spring pass for $99, good from April 20th until they close.  They will stay open at least through the end of May, longer if they continue to get more snow.    Note:  they will be open weekends only.

If I recall, Mt Hood Meadows often extends their season into mid-May.

Website says pricing will be announced this week.  Is that some inside information you've got there?  $99 is a steal if they price it there this year terribly overpriced, it's an outrage.

Edited: Fixed for the benefit of Crystal marketing people who are scouring the internet.

Of course there's always the skin up for free option. That mountain in the back is pretty nice most of the year. smile.gif

Yes, yes, terribly overpriced.  So so very sad for those of us who live in the PNW and are subjected to the burdens of skiing so late into the year.  frown.gif

Being the martyr that I am, I'll probably be the first to get the spring pass.

Maybe they could throw in some free demos to make up for our troubles.

Ok, so I was all set to cancel my plans to go to Lake Louise for a $399 Spring Season Pass and go to Crystal instead. Except that the $99 is a season pass extension so you need to already be a pass holder and i am not.mad.gif

Oh well LL is open daily until May 6 and spring time in the Rockies for $399 is not a bad thing.

Ah, yes, that's the extension price.  I did think that was too good to be true since that'd be a price drop from last year.  Well, I can't find mention of it yet on the website, but if they price it like last year, I believe it should be $150 for everyone else who isn't already a pass holder.

Do note if you plan to take a trip here that the whole mountain isn't 100% open.  DesiredUsername's link tells you what lifts are planned to be operating and when.  They progressively close more terrain as they lose snow on the lower mountain.  By the time July rolled around last year, there was very little terrain open, but hell, it was July.
