naah, not sure what I want. More than likely it will be a subie or a jeep GC.

Quoted because it can't be buried at that bottom of the previous page.

As for the snowmobile roads, currently I have two good options:

1992 Jeep Cherokee (with some minor modifications)

129592028497142245.jpg

1943 Willy's (also with some minor modifications)

However, I think the obnoxious car competition might be more fun and generally entertaining for everyone else . . .

Finn, either of these might be a good option for you, btw. Oh, wait. You want an everyday car as well. Hmmmm . . . Maybe not.

She could use that rack on top to haul around an S7.

Which rack? There are a couple of sets in that picture. biggrin.gif

Which S7?   Not sure the Audi would /quite/ fit...but it might be worth trying.

It would certainly make a great photo-op.

What a shame that MB doesn't import a wagon into the US anymore and Volvo only has one.  They are still very popular in Europe.

Mmmmmm. Good article, too. The sad thing is, I can actually imagine saying this: "Honey, according to my numbers, it makes solid financial sense to buy a Ferrari FF." I agree with the author that those badges on the flanks are overkill, but otherwise it all seems pretty good to me. The only issue is that there is a guy in the carpool line at school who performs feats of unimaginable douchebaggery in a yellow 458 (I think, not really up on my Ferraris), both there and just driving around the hood. I don't know who he is, apparently they moved in recently, but I'm a little soured on the Ferrari.

Bam! You just found THE car I'd buy next if only they'd import them like that. It's no fair that Europe gets cars in every configuration imaginable, yet we're stuck with mostly crossovers with automatics and almost no diesels.

Come on now, let's be fair... I'll bet that the euros can't buy a Murano Convertible.

Not in the price range, but does anyone have any experience in a Mercedes GL350 w/bluetech diesel?

I test drove a GC overland last week. very nice vehicle. Nice ride, handling was good, some roll but you are going to have that with the quadra II. Fit and Finish were excellent. The list is about 46K but I have seen and was quoted via BJ's shopping club about 40K.  Thats the quad II, everything under the sun including suspension height adjust and even AC seats...

edit: the 46K was for a summit overland, the Overland lists for about 2.5K less

40K for a decked out GC? Not too shabby! I wonder how Costco's auto program would compare. Also curious if you could get a dealer down even farther by haggling. Might be worth it if you can save a few more grand. 40k's honestly not too bad for a no-haggle price, though.

I would get the Overland and not the summit and save about $2,500.  so you are looking at 38K.

I seriously doubt you can get it much lower . Right now they are running 1K in rebates and 0% financing. I am not buying anything this year unless they offer something crazy but its a hell of a lot of vehicle. run through the "builder" and/or take a look at what comes on the car with this package.  the Overland Summit is a level higher but you are really only getting the really sweet leather (which you can order on the Overland and the lane departure distance thing thing which I dont want anyway)

Specifics; features.  set the model comparison to Overland 4x4, overland Summit and Limited or other models for comparison
