Lesson based resort in New Mexico

My family was in Whistler last week and was talking about lessons for kids to a guy on a Gondola and he recommended a place in New Mexico... but awful me I forgot both the mountain and resort names... his description was of a resort owned and run by a European fella (Italian maybe?) and it's very family oriented.  Meals and lessons for the entire family are all part of the deal.  Lessons are 9am to 12pm every day then in the afternoon you practice what you learned.  Dinners are served family style with kids eating first then they are entertained for a couple of hours while the adults all eat together.  So you meet and spend a good amount of time with others staying at the resort.  A very unique experience and perfect for families.  Based on this description, can anybody tell me the place he was referring to?

Thanks!

btw Whistler was awesome last week!  Powder days, blue bird days, right at or below freezing temps, crazy beautiful and wonderful skiing.

Gotta be Taos Ski Valley.  The late founder was Ernie Blake from Germany.  It's renowned for ski weeks (and awesome advanced terrain).  Relevant trip report praising ski school:  http://www.dcski.com/articles/view_article.php?article_id=1327&mode=headlines
