So I was a lifetime renter, and just took a trip out west last week so I bought a pair of boots. I went to a local bootfitter who did all the shell sizing/arch measurment and I ended up in a Salomon Impact 100 CS. Felt good in the store. I just skiid on them all last week, and had several concerns. I was expecting a pretty big difference with rental boots, but I still felt like as the day went on, I needed to tighten and tighten the buckles further. By the end of the day, I would be maxed out on my buckles, and still felt like my foot was sliding around. I guess the liner packed out quit a bit?
Now, it was pretty hot last week and I tend to have sweaty feet, so maybe that played a role. I was wearing thin merino ski socks. Is this an insole issue? boot too big? My toes hit the edge when walking, and retract when leaning foward. Id like to think the shop put me in a boot that fit me. Should I wear thicker socks? Footbeds?
