March and April in Colorado are typically epic. A LOT of snow typically falls, because the air warms up a bit and starts carrying more moisture in to dump.
When it isn't dumping, the sun tends to be out and it will be warm, typically making for good mashed-potato snow. Its possible to catch a cold (nowless) day where the surface doesn't thaw, and those suck, but its more likely the skiing will be good.
Of course, that's a typical year, and this year hasn't been typical. Right now, most places in Colorado are skiing decently, and are coming off of a decent February. However, the temps have been warm this week, and its unclear when snow is going to hit next. Most areas in Colorado have less of a base than normal, which doesn't affect conditions now, but mean there is less to melt off as Spring begins to take hold.
Or, it could dump like crazy, and places could decide they want to run in June and July. You never know.
