Let us hear it: come on folks, give us your best stories after a long yaer of skiing. What new tricks did you stick? How high was that cliff realy? How sick was that line you rode when nobody saw you way out in the backcountry?

For starters: The season 2001 gave me some insainly sick lines in the northern Norway. The Tromsø area has a new king......
Added to my trick reportoar:720`s, linconloops and d-spins. Highest cliff of the year: 35feet.( not a good clif yaer, did 40 last yaer.)

Come on guys let us know.........

einarni,
Sounds like you had a pretty good year.

For me, no really exciting new tricks, but doing the old ones whole lot better. 360s with bigger smoother grabs, switch takeoff and landing etc...

Best thing, though was in Verbier on a powder day. I was skiing with a good buddy of mine and we decided to risk the hike along a narrow ridge above the bowl of the pistes. It was pretty clowdy with low visibility, but just as we reached the drop, it cleared. The sun came out and we dropped off a slight cornice to make first tracks down the side of the bowl to the base of the piste.

As if that wasn't good enough, while riding another chair we spotted lines right below which were untracked (about 10 am already!). At the top I asked the lifty what the bae was like etc and he said go for it. So we ducked the ropes and tore down a stepp pitch, narrow chute in deep powder - face shots every turn - under the chair to the delirium of crowd above. what's more, we found a big 25 footer with a good landing just under the chair and were the first off that as well.

It's a sad thing to look back at that later in the day and see the mess of so many lines who have followed, but it's also a great feeling to know that our fresh tracks opened it up for other people to enjoy. What a day.

Yo, einarni. You'll probably get more response if you move this to the general discussion area. This is the off-season sports section.
