Recently bought a new pair of ski socks with my old boots. They are a bit thinner than the old ones I used to wear. Problem however is that I seem to be "swimming" in my boots: even at the tightest clamp I can still move my foot in the Z-plane (rotational). I do slide a little bit forward as well, but not as much as in the rotational direction. But when that happens, the top of my little toe bones (phalanges proximales) get crushed against the roof of the boot and blisters appear.
It looks like I need to get some new boots? Or new liners perhaps? Any suggestions for a good boot fitter around Boston? Does it make sense to go right now (end of season) or better wait until later this year?
