Shall I get in Sync with you and toast to Abasin with your ULLR while you're there?

Would anyone be interested in a demo day like we had at Mt. Rose? I have manufacturers asking.

Bringing World Cup caliber ski equipment and service to all skiers - from pro ski racers to everyday all mountain skiers and into the...

Not sure how the Mt Rose day worked, but I would be interested assuming there is snow.  Had a good time at Vail today, but it is very thin in spots with quite a few bare spots- A nice 1 meter storm would help parts of the mountain, others need back to back storms.

I'm always interested in demo days. biggrin.gif

And BTW - I may just have my wife convinced to ditch the kids and come up with me on Mother's day for the party.  We'll see...

Yes, it really thinned out today.  If I had brought my camera today and taken the same photos as yesterday the difference would have been quite dramatic.  I was very surprised how much could be lost in a night.  Some colder temps are definitely needed and not in the forecast at this point.

Current conditions are pretty mediocre and if the current weather persists well into April, I think Mothers Day conditions will offer very limited skiing. I still think it,sgoing to flip and start snowing again. Hopefully April will deliver the snow MArch didn't. it has to stop being in the mid50's and sunny every day for very much longer though, or it will be like starting all over again if and when it starts snowing again. I 'm done for the season but hopeful the weather will cooperate and finally deliver some late season snow for those of you that have one more blast left.

We may have to bring the ULLR and an extra shot ski.

Yes.  A-basin's beach has got to be just as convenient as Mt. Rose's parking lot for demo days...  In addition to the usual suspects like Head, Rossi, Nordica and Blizzard, perhaps some other companies like Coors, Dillon Dam Brewery, Kingsford charcoal and the fine makers of Beef will want to bring bring products we can demo.

I regret that I have but 170cm to give for a shot ski, but you're welcome to it.  icon14.gif  It's a shame I couldn't fall wearing 223 DH boards, my bad.

I was at the Basin on Sunday (3 days ago) and it was better than expected (sorry, no pictures). Best snow was on the West wall and environs, especially Knolls and Cornice, although I didn't ski Pali (my patellar tendonosis was acting up a bit so I stayed off the bumps). Hard to say how it will hold for another month, however, with all the sunshine- bring the rock skis. The upside of this weather is, of course, skiing in the morning, cycling in the afternoon. It is not a coincidence that Look makes both bindings and pedals (and frames, for that matter)!

I might be in NY that weekend, but if not I'll be up on Sunday.

Not necessary. There will be demos.

I was just reading the What are you drinking, right now? thread when this thought occurred to me: No matter what the snow conditions (which matter little to me at this point anyway), who's NOT excited about the never-ending flow of whiff n poofs and bacon bourbon that will be available on the beach and at the party palace????

whiffsmantax20.jpgYou never know!  weather patterns can change but it may be warranted to picking up some of this gear....

What's that getup for, in case of a big fire? We only need one such outfit in that case; we can take turns using it to bring another round back to the hot tub...

14" out of this storm, with possibly a few more today and throughout the week. Keep it coming....

its looking a lot more marchish than march did... icon14.gif

Basin skied great this morning. This storm should add a couple weeks to what was looking like a really short season.

Late season rally....  put your helmet on backwards.....

This last storm definitely helped!  My cousin arrived with his daughter Friday afternoon, and she had never seen snow before, so it was a welcome surprise.  Here is a video he put together from A-Basin yesterday

Does anyone know if they reopened any previously closed terrain? I was planning to go yesterday, but decided to stay home and fight a developing cough ... Boo hiss, sounds like I missed a great day.
