Now. Wait just a minute, Merlin! That's just not fair! You're judging Big Sky on the basis of one of the worst seasons in years. There was a snow drought here, as almost everywhere last season, so, poor conditions, relatively. And many other resorts were only partially open much of the season, so we were mobbed, resulting in the long lines and crowded slopes shown in your photos. Big Sky was giving discounts to season pass holders from other areas (free skiing to holders of Colorado Epic Passes in January): more crowds. It was also windier than usual, and there always seemed to be a lift closed for wind, crowding the remaining lifts lines even further.

Oh, it was just bloody AWFUL! I mean, those photos prove it! You can't post those photos: you're giving folks the wrong idea. No one will want to come! Take them down, take them down quickly, before everyone cancels!

And, MarzNC, the FastPass is only for skiers/boarders, but sightseers and photographers can take the Tram at 3:30 PM when it closes for skiers and boarders (or take their chances in line with everyone else any time of day).
I hope mentioning the Divas hasn't invited an onslaught of male lurkers. Maybe we should start a new Thread just for their edification and enlightenment!

Rod, Where did you get this?  I could see it getting more use.

DC Metrobus, 16th and P NW. I posted the picture the day I took it. Conditions look a little thin. I think they could have found a better picture!

I have seen those pictures on that bus in the metro Yellow line as well.  I think fondly of the week I spent in March 09 when it snowed every single day at least a foot.  There was fresh powder every morning and it was beautiful.  I wonder if seeing those signs every day on the metro is a beacon light for me?!

According to my spy in the (Big) Sky, it is absolutely mobbed up there this summer season so that may be the audience they're going for with the bus ad. Contrary to what we think, life does go on when the snow melts. It's hard (for me, at least) to think of much to do with a mountain when it isn't covered with white stuff, but evidently people do. I hear they actually walk up and down on them and even ride bikes and stuff, ugh! This year they've added the Lone Peak Expedition and a giant swing (40+ foot, by report) to the list of attractions and the audience has responded. Better they all come during what we consider the "off" season, as far as I'm concerned. More room for US when the snow flies!

Nothing like the driving a golf ball through dry air at 7,000 feet elevation to make one feel good about their golf game.

Well, now that you mention it, Um yes.  However what that really means is that I had planned to attend again in March but my oldest child, my dear daughter (the one out of my will for declaring I have a sixhead now ---as opposed to the usual forehead)  has announced her wedding in July 2013 and while I am absolutely thrilled at the news, it will suck the entire travel budget for the upcoming season dry!  I'll be lucky to afford free skiing at the local 600 foot hill!

Maybe 2014......

Have fun all.....sigh!

Big Sky here we come :D

Pandita, did you say babies (plural)? Is this a very low-key announcement?

Darn... Daphne and I are still paying of our last years trip to the US. So we just decided next season would be a "Europe only" season. But you folks you had to decide to go Montana, the one place which is highest on our US wishlist... Just told Daphne about it and she commented it with: "guess we have to start saving up".
Darn!

But also COOL!!!!! :-)

I missed skiing with you guys last year.  I hope we can all make it to Big Sky.  Montana is the top of my wishlist too.
