BRIDGER, BIG SKY & MOONLIGHT BASIN

March 25-29, 2013

March 25 - Bridger Bowl

March 26 - Big Sky

March 27 - Moonlight Basin

March 28 & 29 - Big Sky

Schedule of Events

As a Gathering tradition, the vote for the following years Gathering is voted at the current years one and you have to be present to vote. Rules are that you nominate a resort/region state your case and the gatheringers present get to vote. The only real stipulation is that the current venue (in this case, Lake Tahoe) and the prior years (Summit County) cannot be an option. In this years vote, Big Sky was the overwhelming winner.

So, the baton will be passed to the new Gathermeister who will be putting his/her personality into the event. Please stay tuned and you can start posting your thoughts and questions here.

State of confusion? th_dunno-1[1].gif

Jackson Hole Wyoming

Big Sky Montana

........hmmmmmm

Perhaps Lili should be the navigator for that trip. cool.gif

the gatherings, how manys days do you get together for? or is it a one day thing? how many of you turn up on average?

Gatherings have been done in Big Sky before.  This should be very good with a closer vibe since I would accommodations and events to be less spread-out than in Tahoe.

While they are not in the same state Big Sky is closer to Jackson, Wyoming than most cities in Montana. It is a 3 hour drive if the winds aren't blowing.

If you are driving from Reno to Big Sky you'll pass within 50 miles of Jackson Hole so you might as well stop for a couple days of skiing.

That IS the plan. icon14.gif I am hoping for a later than earlier Gathering..say end of March so we can take a week plus to go.

Bringing World Cup caliber ski equipment and service to all skiers - from pro ski racers to everyday all mountain skiers and into the...

I believe that this will be a 4 or 5 day gathering.  The new Gathermeister is going to announce details as soon as they are available.

Honestly, I think the Tahoe Gathering may have been well served to have 4 official days and two free ski days at the end for those who wanted to hit SLT or revisit some of the earlier places.  That's pretty much what happened any way.  By the time a group this size (this one was a total of 77) skis together 4 days, they have an idea where they want to go the and who they want to ski with for the final days.

Cool, hoping to attend my first gathering in 2013. biggrin.gif

Hey, that was my plan too...

(Not the "driving from Reno" part, but  "fly to JH, ski, drive to BS, ski, drive to JH, ski, fly home")

My plan too (except the flying part).  I'll most likely drive for this one so that I won't have to separate from too much of my quiver.  I hate to cause all that in-fighting between my skis about who gets to go. wink.gif

If we take the Yukon and Yak, you may be able to catch a ride, eh?

I was thinking rental car, but ... DIBS!

Any public transportation from Jackson Hole to Big Sky?  I can see that this can be a good use of an "open jaw" award plane ticket.

And don't forget there will be less infighting among your boots! Have the Head boots forgiven you for missing Tahoe?

The boots will forgive me, but my right leg hasn't.  I think it would have preferred to skip the trip.  I ended up spending my morning at the hospital.  It seems that somehow I triggered a case of Superficial Thrombophlebitis in my leg.

I can't even say that, let alone spell it!

I think we may need to rent a big van for a group road trip from Tahoe to the Gathering. Plan stops in Jackson and maybe even UT.

Funny you should ask.  A possibility is that my application of the KT Tape caused "stasis" within the vein on the medial side of my knee.  Just enough to trigger some coagulation that caused pain and swelling.  The pain started at my knee, but has moved into my groin.  It feels like I've been kicked in the nuts. eek.gif

Sounds fun.  Bring back memory of college ski club going to Colorado from California and drinking non-stop for 20 hours on the bus.

Yeah, this may explain some of my geographic issues with that large area that's between the coasts.  :-)

ROAD TRIP!!!  ski.gif

Though it may be easier for us to meet up with you in Jackson.

Edit: Although a cheap nonstop flight from NYC->SLC is awfully tempting.  Of course, if we end up being out West for a few months next season, we may be driving too!
