Best bet for spring skiing this year - first week of April

My wife and I have a couple of round trip tickets on Southwest and would like to use them to go ski the first week of April.  Last year we went to Tahoe during that week and it was buried however this year's weather is a TOTALLY different deal. 

 

Does anyone have any opinions on where we could find some snow this year?  We are very intermediate and pretty much stick to blue / black groomers so we're not looking for backcountry or deep powder.

 

We can pretty much go anywhere Southwest flies but are considering Sun Valley, Tahoe, Eagle / Summit in CO or Salt Lake.  We haven't considered the northeast but would be willing to go there as well if the feeling is that the resorts will be open.

 

We have been to SLC, Colorado and Tahoe within the past year so something different might be nice.

Fly into Spokane(GEG) and hit Schweitzer, Silver and/or some of the Canadian resorts like Red or White Water?  Conversely, you could fly into Seattle(SEA) and drive to Whistler?

Long term weather projections indicate Northern Idaho or Northwest Montana should be good (along with the adjoining regions in BC) so the suggestions around Spokane are good.

SLC is likely to have the best snow, but you are looking for groomers. Sun Valley is usually good then and would meet your needs. Southwest does not fly into SV, so you would need to fly to Boise and rent a car or take the bus, or fly Southwest to SLC then Delta to SV (actually Hailey , 12 miles from SV).

Fly in to Portland on Southwest & drive to Bend Oregon.

You'll find Bend lodging in April for about half the price of most resorts and the town has a lot to offer.

Get a spring pass at Mt Bachelor for about $150.

The skiing in April has been great, and their mid mountain base is at 127" right now.
