I am considering buying some used skis like these, available locally in a 170cm length:
I ski mostly in Minnesota on our little hills, am probably about level 7 or so (improving intermediate), working on performance carved turns. My current skis are Elan M666 in 176, bought used last November. Boots are Tecnica Infernos. I might try some beer league racing next year. In any case I would like to to try a ski with a shorter turn radius than the M666, thinking it might be better suited to shorter hills. I think the SLX are 12.8m in 170 vs. M666 at 17.9m in 176.
Does anyone have any feedback to give on the Elan SLX Fusion Pro for my purposes? I am 5' 11", 190lbs. Do folks think a 170 is a good length for me for this type of ski, or should one go shorter for a slalom-type ski?
