How to store boots?

Thread Starter

I did a search and couldn't find the answer for these questions given my criteria.

I just got a new pair of Dalbello Axion 9 s.

I will definately be keeping them in the house and not in the garage or attic so temperature is not a concern.

Should the be stored buckled or un-buckled?

If buckled, how tight?

Should they be stored with the liners in or out of the boots?

Any other comments?

Thanks,

Craig

craig,

when you return from a trip i would take the liners and footbeds out of the boot and allow everything to dry for 24-48 hours in a warm (not hot) place, this will get rid of any moisture in the bottom of the shell below the liner.. reassemble the boots and store them loosely clipped up to keep the shell in good shape.. make sure all the overlaps are going the right way and the tongue of the liner is sitting correctly inside the shell too, there is not point storing them all twisted only to have to reset everything next time you ski

best place is in a spare room cupboard or under the bed or similar, as you say avoid the attic or the garage and anywhere else the temperature is going up and down too much and that may be home to mice....mice just luuuurrrrve ski boot liners

Thanks for the answer to the rest of my questions.

I have one more question.. Should I wash the liners before storing them?

Thanks,

in a word NO

if you want to keep them fresh then there are various shoe fresh type products to deodorize all types of footwear but DO NOT put them through the wash
