Long lost cousins?

Two questions...

1.  What are those other two?

2. They're not so rare or long lost but shouldn't the Icelantic Shaman be in that picture as well since they have a similar shape?

35mm /minimum/ taper to play.    BBR= 37mm    FPS = 42mm       Shamans are only 30 mm.

All right - so who brought these out to the gathering to have them mounted?  ;-)

I'm actually curious about the flex of them - mounting a skate deck on top is going to lock out the flex between the front and rear holes, so there is no incentive to make the flex progressive along the sidecut.

says who? i always thought the bbr's were a ripoff of icelandic's design.

The designs are not that similar (less sidecut at the tail section compared to the fore section on the BBR), and shape is only the design component you see. the builds are a big factor also.

furthermore, they don't ski the same at all. and are not skied by the same type of skier.  One of the top skiers on the planet told me the BBR rocks, and that has never happened about the Icelantic.

I remember back in '01 or '02 that Salomon had a ski line up called the X-Free.  The X-Free 09 was the top of the line ski in that series.  Salomon claimed it had a "Y-Shape."  When I first saw the BBR, I thought that Salomon brought back a fatter X-Free.

Here is a picture that I found on the interwebs.
