Keep skis on same foot or switch left/right back an forth?

I have heard that it is good to regularly switch skis from left to right to keep the wear balanced. I have also heard it is good to always keep them on the same feet. What do you guys think?

Thanks,

Brad

If you are biased to one side where you got a strong left turn but bad rifht, plus its abrasive conditions, plus you dont have access to rewax on a long trip, maybe you can randomize it a bit. But dont sweat it too much.

Just switch them at lunch, then you'll have fresh wax and edges for the afternoon.wink.gif

I never have paid any attention to which ski goes on which foot, but recently I've made an interesting observation.  My Elan 888s have a red star on the tip.  The star is extruded and the red part is some glued on plastic.  One of the plastic pieces came off after a lot of use making it easy to notice the difference between the two skis as I rode the lift.  I noticed that with no thought or effort on my own the same skis ended up on the same feet time and time again.  When I purposefully changed them just to see what happened they stayed changed.  I realized that I must pick my skis up, set them down, carry them, put them in the cargo box, etc. the same every time.  What a creature of habit!
