In case you did not know, Stowe has been rocking.

we have recieved 40 inches since this video, and are going to get another 12-20 inches by tomorrow. with more after that. The only place in the east for off piste skiing is here right now. Even with this storm Smuggs/Stowe are the only mountain with a significant base, jay does not have nor does Sugarbush/MRG. We literally do have more snow than Tahoe. The East Coast Gathering will have more base(that is a givin) and hopefully more snow than the main gathering.

plan your trip. We have a great group of guides at each mountain for all ability levels. I would love to see some westerns make the trek out to experience stowe and the rest of northern Vermont at its best.

I am seriously bummed that I am heading to Tahoe tomorrow and am not at Stowe right now.  But I'm sure I'll have a good time at Tahoe, and I'm sure I'll have a good time at the Stowe gathering in a few weeks as well.

Sounds great -- there's snow in the North.   I saw a lot of people skiing glades at Jay over the last few days -- I wasn't one of them, so I can't say what conditions were.  Nothing like 60 inches, but there was enough, apparently, to jazz people.

Stowe is skiing really, really well right now. If we get the snow that is predicted it will be great skiing.

Yay, bonus points for the mac miller soundtrack. Fun video, thanks! :)

Hey Josh, are any of those trees in-bounds, or is that side-country?

The trees where you could see the gondola to skiers left -- those were in bounds.  :-)

Faceshots today. It is Nuking. I had to put my hood up because my skis keep throwing snow down my neck.

The Almanac says the big snow will come in late February/March.  Guess so, maybe.

It's snowing HARD right now and has been since early yesterday evening, the mountain is quickly closing in on two feet of fresh snow since yesterday. I don't throw around superlatives too often but this morning was epic.

one of the best day ever today. track filled in. ON our last run skiing though the tracks got you face shots. skiing the untracked basically stopped you or blinded you or choked you.

VS some of those tree in the video are inbounds.

There's an honest two feet of snow in my driveway that was plowed at 5 AM this morning. I think storm total will be over 36".

Thanks for reminding me...I have a few friends up there now while I was stuck at work. The pictures they've sent back are the best of winter so far, and we were at Jay recently. frown.gif

So today was pretty crazy. This morning early runs were great, faceshots bottomless and tons of stuff filled in. easily a foot plus of snow.  As the day went on the tracks filled in, and soon were in some sort of weird lala lands where the tracks and trenches left by other skiers yielded faceshots and no joke there were place where my 48 inches pole just dissappeared.

Yesterday afternoon carveable sweet wind buff.

Get in the car (if that's at all possible), tomorrow may well be better.

Should have come north to Oregon. We are getting hammered right now, and about to pass the 300 inch mark for the season.  The skiing has been really good the past week.

So stoked to ski tomorrow!!! For me, good days get the good old Quagmire "Giggity". Methinks tomorrow will earn the rare "Giggity giggity goo!"

Great Video! I was up at Stowe last weekend and was amazed at all of the snow (4ft at Stake) and we were able to tour out towards  Bolton from Trapps. Had to work this weekend,  so happy for you guys!! Sounds like more snow is on the way!!

Was at Smuggs this past weekend, Saturday was a whiteout, constant refresh of powder, 2' from Friday evening though Saturday. Kept snowing Sat night, and Sunday morning I was in over my knees. I am just a couple years getting back into the sport, have never been out West, and had never skiied in anything like this before.

Saturday, I just flung myself down pitches I normally might have some trouble with and double ejected a couple of times, giggling while I tumbled.

Sunday morning I tried to actually ski the powder:
