I haven't tryed the Slider plate but just borrowed a pair of Blizzard 8.1's with the system IQ Max (Marker) binding, it worked great! My boot sole length was different and only required that I remove the screw, slide out the binding, lift a tab, select my boot sole length and slide back in and insert the screw (slight forward pressure adjustment made). A great feature that never requires remounting of the binding. A big plus if you resell the skis, borrow them out or switch boots. As far as the bindings, they are higher end markers, as good or better than something you would buy and then have to mount anyways, probably cheaper too?. Unless you already own a pair of bindings, that you really like, and want to re-use, I would opt for the system.
