I just got back from Breckenridge with a group of 4 couples ranging in ages from 25-32, and we are party types. We had people with us that have never skied and levels 8-9 as well.
Here's a few tips
We stayed at the Beaver Run resort, it was the cheapest(at the time of booking) ski in-out. It is 30 feet from the Beaver Run lift. Anything on Peak 9 has the most "stuff" around it and is probably the most convenient to everything(equipment, school). It is the closest to downtown Breckenridge. It is also the best if you have skiers of varying levels of ability. The quicksilver chair just off to the left is where they take all the newbs to the greens for ski school.
Keep in mind much of the accomodations on peaks 9 are older, but nicely renovated. No matter who you book with make sure you ask for a renovated room.
Peak 7 has mostly new resorts and from what I could tell would be more "fun", but they will be expensive. Also, everything off peak 7 is blue and it will be hard for any newbs to get the to greens on peak 9
Don't know much about peak 8 or 10.
