I is a common app on phones and other GPS devices to measure speed. I have double and triple checked my GPS to my car speedometer. My friends and I have speed trials on a very steep groomed, unused run at Deer Valley called Reward. People under estimate their speeds. Most good skiers maybe 40 mph. With a speedsuit and FIS downhill skis with Florine wax, the best of us can bearly do the mid 70's on a fast day. I didnt see it, but someone claims to have hit 80. It is ungodly fast. If you fall, you die. I dare anyone to go any faster.
