Did you look at other CO totals? A funny collection. But I rolled over and went back to sleep.

A-Basin 1", Aspen/Snowmass 7", Beaver Creek 7", Breckenridge 2", Copper 1", Crested Butte 4", Durango 5", Eldora 1", Keystone 2", Loveland 1", Monarch 9", Powderhorn 19", Silverton 8", Ski Cooper 1", SolVista 2", Steamboat 27", Sunlight1", Telluride 9", Vail 4", Winter Park 4", Wolf Creek 14"

But I'm leaving now .... 1 inch beats, uh, no inches ... and half an inch ...

Classic Steamboat oragraphic storm, still dumping at 8:30...  Rabbit ears is still open.....

I had a 36" day in Steamboat in the early 80's that is still the lightest snow I've ever skied!  Super cold down in the valley and just puking on the hill.

its going to be chasing that amount for sure. Its still snowing heavily there with more "disturbances" behind it. The temps are near zero at the top so its gotta be uber light "freaq-y" (pun) light.

Yes, looks like this pattern is only going to intensify through most of the week.

Yep, that was INSANE.  Deepest greatest day I've ever had by far.  Couldn't breathe or see a thing it was so damn deep and suuuuuuper light. Used my first tracks voucher and was second cabin.  I have lots of gopro footage... however, not sure any of it will be at all usable as it literally was nonstop overhead blower so the footage is just going to be all white with a whole lot of squealing and gasping for air.

Jon wade said the same thing!  A simply amazingly sick deep day!

Nice job on the 1st tracks, Greg and I were saying this was the day to pony up for that.  I want the video!!!!!  Cheers

Not sure what is worse. Not being here, or being here but being stuck on greens and blues with my son? Normally, my wife would get to follow him around so I could play. Since it is her bday she was at the spa. Oh well, still was a really fun day.

So, I learned about this dump on my first chair ride at the Jane today.  I might have driven up had I known.  Can't complain though, had a great day in a little bit of new snow over soft.

BRING IT ON!!!

I'll be there in a week. I would've loved to hit this storm but I'm just happy the 'boat got some more snow. Hopefully, the snow will continue all week to fill in the woods. I get one free "First Tracks" with my Rocky Mountain Super Pass + and it would be great to use it on some powder turns. Keep it comin'!

Glad you were able to hit it Tam!

Not tons of good footage since my camera was submerged for a good majority of the day, but should give you a general idea of what today was like.

Tam, this is my new favorite TR of all time. I am asking the mods to put this in the TR section.

Thanks, since I am not able to ski this is so appreciated. Knowing exactly where you were skiing really made it feel good.....

Wow!

I was at the Jane yesterday where the 4 they reported was more like 2. It was disappointing as the forecasts had been for a pretty good dump. Too bad the Boat is so far from Denver. Glad you were able to get after it.

Ron, did you try out skiing pow without an acl?

Funny, we say just the opposite....biggrin.gif

I am not cleared due to my ankle and shoulder more than the knee at this point. I still have a pretty large knot on the top of my ankle on the instep and the shoulder is not so good. No way I could pole around

Bummer. I tried to convince my ortho to repair my acl and shoulders at the same time. He (probably wisely) wouldn't do it. So I've still fot two loose shoulders awaiting things getting bad enough that I'll put up with the amount of time required for rehab.

Sorry you have to experience this vicariously.

Not sure why I didn't just pack up and leave for the 'boat yesterday (duty?...lame...).  Anyway, I was able to get into my Steamboat condo starting on Friday, so I'm hoping to catch the tail end of this one (though another doozy is forecast for Saturday/Sunday).  Would love to ski with any other folks up there (Tam? and great video BTW), so give a holler....   Skibumm - when you arriving?

ira, pos this up in the getting together section by Trip Reports. I think there are actually a couple bears heading there now. I just got a text from one who's going to try to drive up today from DIA....

yeah, I think that's probably a good idea to do one at a time. That's a lot of trauma to the body and getting you mobile and into rehab would be pretty difficult.

Good lord! We were THERE! :O This was absolutely the most incredible thing I've ever experienced (save the birth of my children - wait, I might be wrong LMAO).   We have been going to The Boat for 7 years and I thought I had the Steamboat Curse.   I didn't even think I could ski that much snow but we did and it was incredible.   I can't even describe it.  They're now saying it's the largest 24-hour snow Steamboat has ever had.   Giddy.    Giddy!   The sound of all of those people coming down the slopes whooping and hollering was like pure heaven.   :)

Tam - that video was the absolute definition of the word Epic.  I've been in truly deep blower blow a few times and your video made me feel the snow going down my throat while I was trying to breathe.  Steamboat clearly is in a magical, magical spot where the weather orographics treat it very well.

Tam, my friend. If this had to happen, I'm glad that it had to happen all over YOU.

Simply glorious.
