Feedback

Thread Starter

I looked at "my profile" and saw "feedback". When I brought up the feedback I expected to see some comment about me or a post I had made, instead all I saw was the personal profile of another epic person. What do I need to understand about the feedback function and how to use it?

thanks

ps

sorry to cost you time and effort.

You should be seeing the post that the feedback (thumbs up) was on.  If the person who GAVE the feedback also entered a comment at the same time, you'll see that.  Personally, I only enter a comment occasionally.

Here's what I see:

Forum post: Rossignol S6 review......
Hey, there is a ski for everyone.   If this guy likes them, then just because YOU don't like them doesn't mean they are the wrong ski for...
Feedback from: DesiredUsername
"well said!"

If you click on the little green triangle you see the feedback. (Example above)

With regard to feedback, I have a question that I've not been able to find an answer for.  When I post (only 7 so far) I see the notation

  • Feedback: 1       displayed on the right side of the posting header under the Post Count and Location. Can you help with how I use this information (and make it go away)?  Thanks.

You are the only person who can see that.  It means someone gave you a thumb's up.  If you click on it, it will take you to your Feedback page and you can see which posts people liked.

Thanks sibhusky for taking the time to reply.  When I click on the feedback count I'm taken to my feedback page which indicates I've given (0) feedback and received (0) feedback.  Obviously this isn't a big deal and not worth spending any significant time on but if you have an idea why (1) is displayed on posts and (0) available for viewing it would help satisfy my desire to understand how this works.  Thanks again. John

Hmmm, well my credit doesn't equal the number available for viewing because I've got clicks from people whose opinion is worth two points (or something along those lines).  But still, not sure how doubling 0 can get you a 1.   Maybe 1 is the minimum?  I'm going to click on your post.  Let me know what happens then.

Feedback count changed to 2 on the 'post' page with the following new values on the profile.

  • Feedback 2
  • Feedback Received 1
  • Unique Feedback 1
  • jdleuck received (1)

I think your right that (1) must be a minimum for all new members?.  At least we'll leave it at that,  Thanks again sibhusky for the help.
