Cupolos Ranks w/ the Best Ski Sellers Anywhere

Just my 2 cents.... Jay at Cupolos was a pleasure to buy skis from. Honest, helpful, and made me a super deal being a Barking Bear. I could not have gotten a better deal anywhere. He stands behind his products 100% and takes care of all warranty issues regardless of where you are from. Keep up the good work!!

I've heard great things about them as well, but I'm starting to wonder if anyone at Cupolo ever reads their email. In the past week, I sent them a couple of normal emails ( csports@sprint.ca ) and an EpicSki Private Message ( member number 3208 ), and none have been answered.

Is there a better email adr to use, or do I have to get on the phone ( +1 (905) 356-8465 ) ?

My sentiments exactly! I got some amazing deals there. I do not buy ski equipment anywhere else, because I simply can't afford to!

Pauliestew - Thanks for the contact info. At this point, I guess I'll just call them.

except when they jerk you around for 3 months telling you that your bindings should be in by the end of the week, this is after you've spent 15-20 minutes on hold until someone could get a hold of somebody who actually knew what you were talking about...... finally just gave up and cancelled my order, the price they offered was great but it just wasn't worth the headache that I got....There was a whole thread on this issue on the P-mag forums but I'm sure its been deleted : Definately NOT what I expected given that so many people give these guys such high marks for everything.

Well, BigE, that's because you live practically within a stone's throw from Cupolo's. :

Yes, close enough indeed. I actually rented my daughters boots and poles from Cupolo's this year.

Let me preface these comments by saying that I have never personally purchased anything from Cupolo. However, there was quite a mess in late '03/early '04 as part of a "group buy" that the PowMag Maggots worked with Cupolo. Cupolo overcommitted to orders of many of the popular Volkl's (Explosives/Gotamas/V-Pros), but took the money anyhow. Not only were people out the $'s, but I saw listings on eBay by Cupolo for models that "supposedly" were not in stock. I planned on buying some Explosives from Cupolo, but quickly changed my mind.

Again, not my first-hand experience, but history that one would want to know when making a choice of where you want your dollars to go.

Hi
It is true that we ran into a supply problem with the volkl's, but we delivered every pair before the any resort opened in North America. Just for the record we shipped 98% of the order within the first week of the order..We took some heat on this one, but everyone was happy at the end.
Jay
P.S. We welcome all comments. good or bad.

OK, since the people at Cupolo Sports clearly are reading this thread, let me try again and ask the exact same question I asked in the second message in this thread but never got an answer to:

I sent you a couple of normal emails (ie, to csports@sprint.ca ) and an EpicSki Private Message ( member number 3208 ). None have been answered.

Is there a better email adr to use, or do you have an 800 number instead of the 905 number. If not, is (905) 356-8465 correct?

I have heard from some of your customers in reply to my questions, but never a single word from Cupolo themselves. To be honest, it doesn't exactly instill a lot of confidence in me if a potential customer can't get an answer to emails and postings on threads you guys are obviously reading. What's up guys?

Maybe it's the time of the year...perhaps Jay is on vacation. I can only add my compliments to the others here. Not only have I bought a few items through ebay from Jay, but he actually called me to see if I needed anything else...was willing to direct sell and avoid the ebay middle man.

We have made several purchases from Cupolo. They have done well by us. We have also supported our "local" dealer, which is 450 miles from us.

I will second everyone's praise of Cupolo's. They are a wonderfull shop that prides themselves on being able to supply you with the equipement you need for a fraction of the price that the competition offers it for. Over the past 8 or so months i have spent a good deal of time at the shop while in the process of outfitting most of my team with new skis. The staff at Cupolo's was 100% helpful to us during this process, which can often be frustrating for shop employees (13 racers come into your shop and want two pairs of skis and boots... each). Everyone int he shop loves the sport and will make sure that you are happy with your purchase and ultimately happy on the snow. Jay has a great shop and a great staff that will always be willing to help their customers. In regards to the Volkl problem... I know for a fact that Cupolo's was one of the last shops to have Volkl in stock last season, and when they sold out they made a push to get more. Any other shop would have sold out and not had anymore Volkls, but they made the effort to order much of Volkl's remaining stock so they could continue to supply customers, even after most other shops had sold out of models like the 6-star, 724 pro, and gotama.

I have done business with Cupolos, so I'd like to add my 2 cents.
Re; email. Jay is usually prompt in responding. But be real, the guy's got a life too. If you really need to know something QUICK, pick up the phone and call.
Re; prices. Phenominal deals. No doubt.
Re; rentals. As an instructor at Kissing Bridge, I see it all. Cupolos has THE BEST seasonal rental equipment programs in the WNY area. Both quality and price. I refer people to rent a Cupolos all the time. I plan on renting some boards for next season.
P.S. Check out the all new ATOMIC METRON for next season. Advance word is that this ski ROCKS!!
Thanks...and think SNOW!

I've done business with Cupolos too and any email I sent was promptly answered. The boots I purchased were promptly sent to me and because I had tried the same boot on at a local shop, they fit perfect! I am a pleased customer! Great communication, Great service and Great product! What more can one ask for? Now, to fly through Summer and Fall so I can try the boots out! I have worn them for a few hours in my house and they were great! I can't wait to see how they are on the slopes! BTW, does anyone know where I can get a "Ski Key" (? correct name ?) to help close the boots at a tighter setting and then to help release them?

Question, can I bring the boots to any Technica dealer to have the hotform activated? Should there be a charge for this?

I guess the maxim… “You can’t make everyone love you” is true here. Jay is a great guy and runs a great ski business. It’s inevitable when dealing with hundreds of customers to have a thing or two from time to time go sour. It’s business! I personally had perfect business transactions with Jay & Co. both on the phone and via e-mail. Just recently got two super deals on brand new skis; the prices were simply unbeatable. Of course, a little bit of ebay finagling needed to be exerted to receive such a deals (wink, wink!) but it was all worth it. Will do business with him again as long there’s snow and my knees don’t give out!

I just bought some Omecarve 10's and had a great experience at a great price. I highly recommend checking them out before making a purchase somewhere else.

Not a great experience

I purchased boots (Salomon Crossmax 10) via an ebay auction which ended September 12. The money (payment) was taken from my paypal account, however I never recieved my purchase. After contacting cupolos sports I was informed that they had sold my purchase???? and that I would be given the 2005 version when they recieved their lange shipment. Well, months have passed, they have recieved their shipment and I have been given an unbelievable runaround of B.S. I have contacted the Jay several times. I have been told on several different occassions that the product will ship within the week and have never recieved it. As of recent, (last 3 weeks) Jay will not take my calls and will not return my messages.
