Alyeska is usually a great place to ski.
But we can get visited by the Pineapple Express, bringing weather that has no business happening in AK.
There are half a dozen days each season where the glop is unbelievably heavy and deep.
It can still be great fun before it gets cut up. But after it is cut, it can be a handful for anybody.
All I can say to the OP is don't judge all "powder days" by that experience.
Come back down on a day when there is new snow, not 3 feet of mashed potatoes.
