Proper setup of Look/Dynastar Exclusive Fluid bindings and Exclusive active skis

I picked up a pair of skis and bindings for my daughter, setup the bindings per the chart; however, something didnt seem right.

I took them to a local Dynastar dealer who set them up for me.

Upon looking at them, they had them in the same spot that I had them, but the forward force indicator was off.  I reset the heel piece to allow the yellow window to show the line in the middle which indicates the correct forward force, received a refund for my improperly setup bindings as I had it set better than them prior to dropping them off, and now am left saying ....now what. (they also didn't have a NM meter to test the release is actually = to the DIN setting that is required)

My issue:  The line on the boots and the line of the binding rails do not line up.

The instructions say to line up the forward piece within a certain 'range', which I did correctly based on 3 pieces of reference material including the tech manual I downloaded online.

The tech manual differs from the reference manual for the heel piece.  They ask that you measure the heel piece, place it up to the line in the ref chart and you should be good.  Unfortunately it's about 1" too close together and the boot wont fit. I've measured 3 times and converted to MM.

The tech manual simply states to get the proper front setting , then slide the back binding up to the boot, remove the boot and forward click, this should give you the proper forward thrust, which it did.

All seems well; however, as I said, the line on the boot and the line on the binding rail do not line up perfectly.  The line on the boot is about 3/8" further back from the line on the ski.  Which would represent about a 3/8" setback.

I'm comfortable with the DIN settings, as is the rider.. My question is more about the setback.

Here is the tech manual, our bindings start at page 21: http://www.wsco.ca/tech_info/dynastar%20tech%20manual%200708.pdf

You'll noticed on 23 where it tells you what A,B,C,D line you should be on.  We should be on B , line 2 or 3, we are actually on C.  The boots are 292.5 mm.  The difference between these lines B2 vs C1 is about 3/8 of an inch, however the forward binding is set correctly.

Puzzling.

I know it's a rather lengthy read, and unless you understand these bindings and installation, I may never get a valid answer, but I'm taking a shot in the dark here.  I tried calling Dynastar and was sent to a local distribution, who sent me to a tech person who has not returned my call. :(

Set the toe piece to the length of boot (in mm from side of boot), adjust heal piece till the forward pressure (half yellow in window) is set.

Maybe I don't understand what you mean but that's how I always set up my px12 fluid bindings.

That's exactly what I did, much more elaborated upon lol.

BUT, the line in the middle of the boot and the line on the bindings which shows the center CG or proper center mount point is off 3/8".  The boot sets back 3/8".

I have this on my board by design, if I choose the centermark, I'm already 1" setback on my board, if I set back further then I would be back further than default for a 'true' setback of whatever I set it to, say another 1".

So I'm sure this ski / binding rail mount combo has it in mind that the mark , is the point for where they set as a default, and then if you want to setback possibly you adjust accordingly?  Sorry, not sure how it works for skis or , the intention of the line on the boot and the skis, but I'm assuming this is to get the correct CG or centerpoint mount.

Are you using the actual BSL on the boot, it should be in the format ###mm. Never seen a boot with a .5mm
