Dear "Inland Northwest" 

 

I will be in Spokane at the beginning of march for about a week, tagging alone with my wife on her business trip. While she will be working I am planning to do some skiing for both of us (her and I). 

 

I am aware of 49 Degrees North and Mt Spokane being close by, is any better than the other? Any suggestions or ideas? Any of you will be skiing up there during those days? (02/29, 03/01, 03/02, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday)... ?

Most of our resorts are closed a couple days during the week. (except Schweitzer)

 

49 is open on Monday and Tuesday. Mt Spokane on Wednesday. 49 is about an hour and 20 minutes from downtown. Mt Spokane is about 55 minutes. Mt Spokane does have night skiing if you wanted to get some slope time in with the wife.

 

Other options to consider would be Silver Mountain, open on Monday and an hour west of town on I-90. (easy drive)

 

Lookout Pass and Schweitzer are both about 1:45 from town. (Lookout's closed on Tuesday)

 

I don't usually ski those days of the week, but might be able to get in a half day.

Thanks for the information Mike, I was on 49 and Mt Spokane website, by some reason had hard times finding their days and hours of operations... My wife said that dates have changed to 6, 7 and 8th of March, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday...I've skied skied Silver before, nice MT! Depending on the weather, I'd love to check out lookout and 49 as well. Mt Spokane is very close by but seems like not a lot of people are big fans of it...I will post again closer to the dates to see who's available to make few runs together!

I wouldn't write off Mt Spokane completely -- I've got a pass there too.

 

Mt Spokane can be superb on a weekday powder day. You literally have the mountain to yourself (2000 vert). I could find you untracked all day.

 

If I were you I'd hit:

 

Tuesday - 49

Wed - Lookout or Mt Spokane

Thurs - Silver

Btw.. buy $35 of merch from Napa Auto parts and get a free 49 lift ticket.

Nice, thanks! I just was about to purchase a timing belt and few other belts for my old Camry..... I guess I got a free ticket!

Just purchased a bunch of parts from Napa, it turns out the deal is for Bluewood and Lookout pass, so I am getting one for Lookout. Thanks for the hint.

I am in Spokane for sure on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week....Looks like spknmike is available for some time, anyone else would like to meet up and do some skiing together???? common people, don't make me ski by myself (wife is in training)... The choice of the resort is flexible, depending on what's open and where is snow.......
