We've been experiencing a high-and-dry (and cold) period the last several days, so the snow has evolved into smooth, chalky, edgeable skiing almost everywhere. On Monday, I hooked up with Stephen McDonald (Skiing-in-Jackson on EpicSki) and his family and we all went out of bounds to Rock Springs canyon.
Stephen and Christy's four kids are all great skiers and a riot to hang around with. This was the kids' first time OB at Jackson Hole, so it was a real honor to introduce this group of little rippers to some terrain that will be home field for them in a few short years.
Here's the whole family at the top of the tram. Left to right, Eden, Liberty, Demaris, Stephen, Blaze, Christy:
Blaze in the little treeline pines:
Eden carvin' it up while stylin' in her retro stretch pants (and expedition parka):
Liberty - the youngest person ever to ski 100 days in a season at Jackson Hole... when she was SEVEN:
Demaris slicing the chop on North Bowl:
Christy obviously enjoying herself:
Blaze looking super SMOOTH:
Liberty scratching her ski edges across nature's chalkboard:
Demaris, me and Blaze in the trees on the way back to the resort:
Lots of fun with a cool family. Stephen took the photos (with my camera) while I was playing around with a camcorder. If I get ambitious, I'm going to make a little video.
